In the town of Ambleside, at the head of Windermere, the Log House was originally brought to the Lake District by local artist Alfred Heaton Cooper nearly 100 years ago. The Estate House- The Estate House is an elegant Victorian home in a quiet setting at the centre of Ford Village. There is a garden surrounded by mature trees and views towards the Cheviots. The dining room overlooks the garden, where there is often plenty of wildlife to watch on the lawn. The breakfast menu has lots of choice; evening meals and packed lunches are available by arrangement. Local organic ingredients are used as much as possible. The non-smoking Estate House has on-site parking, with a lock-up garage for cycles. Ford Village is between the A1 and A697 roads. The Estate House is well place for coastal attractions such as Holy Island and Bamburgh.

The White Horse Coaching Inn- Located by junction 41 of the A14, The White Horse features a 500-year-old coaching inn, a large car park and a large beer garden with decking and covered seating areas. The inn is located 4 miles (6.4 km) from Bury St Edmunds; 8 miles (12.9 km) from Newmarket and a 25-minute drive from Cambridge. A cafe with leather chairs serves a range of coffees and specialist teas. Sutton dining room can seat 30 people and features a seating area with leather sofas. There is a 3-meat carvery every Sunday at Ascot Servery. Seven quaint en suite bedrooms have tea-making facilities, Freeview TV and allergy-free bedding.

Dr Syns Guest House- Just a short stroll away from the beach, this old-world-style guesthouse is set in Dymchurch, next to the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Steam Railway and only 15 minutes from the Eurotunnel. The Towers- The Towers guest house is a landmark Victorian building in a superb position with beautiful sea views, overlooking Hillsborough nature reserve on the South West Coast path and Ilfracombe's picturesque harbour. A 10-minute stroll will take you to the hub of the town and harbour offering a good choice of restaurants, cafes and public houses. There is also a golf course that is less than a mile (1.6 km) away. The Towers offers a quiet, relaxing stay with many of the rooms benefiting from sea views. A hearty breakfast is served in the dining room and the guest house also caters for vegetarians. Atlanta- As featured on Channel 5's TV programme, 'The Hotel Inspector', this small, family-run guest house is centrally located on Eastbourne seafront, with fabulous uninterrupted sea views.
