The Limes - This family-run, Victorian house is a pleasant riverside walk from York city centre. It is a 10 minute walk to the city walls but less to the start of York's many wonderful eating places. From here to get to the city center you can either walk round on the walls at Micklegate Bar towards the spectacular ancient Minster or under them where the shops start. Both ways take around a further 10 minutes, so it is 20 minutes walking from us to the middle of town. Our emphasis is on friendliness and cleanliness. We offer full English breakfast in the dining room or relax and take advantage of our breakfast in bed at no extra charge. Stone Head House - Just off the Pennine Way, this small, beautiful manor house was built in 1596 and is rich in original character and traditional charm. Today, it offers free Wi-Fi and lovely rooms. In the small valley of Stone Head, near Lothersdale and Cowling in North Yorkshire, Stone Head House once served as a working farm. There are only a handful of properties in the hidden valley, all of similar age. The beautiful original building has been carefully preserved and sensitively refurbished. With flagstone floors downstairs and a huge inglenook fireplace in the dining hall, the guest house provides charming bed and breakfast accommodation at very reasonable rates. Dairy Guest House was originally a family home and joinery business, built in 1890. It then became a dairy for many years, until being turned into a guest house in 1978.
