Cottage Lodge - In the Victorian village of Brockenhurst, nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park, this charming 17th century residence now offers 5-star guest accommodation. Cottage Lodge is a friendly, family-run property offering 12 clean, comfortable hotel-style bedrooms. All of the rooms have en suite facilities with a bath or a shower. The standard rooms are the equivalent of a 2-star hotel room and the superior rooms are the equivalent of 3-star hotel accommodation. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, TVs and hairdryers. Irons are available on request. Parts of the building date back to 1650 and still feature beautiful period features, such as original wooden beams. The lodge's rich history mean it has a wealth of character and original charm. Taller guests will have to duck in places! Every room is individual and unique. Some are modern, while others have a traditional feel. The Snug Bar and the breakfast room still boasts original timbers. A delicious full English breakfast is available from 08:15 to 10:00 and features locally sourced produce. The village of Brockenhurst has 3 pubs, 7 restaurants, a train station, a petrol station and various shops. The lodge is just 4 minutes' walk from open forest, but if you prefer to explore on horseback or by bike, horse riding and bicycle hire are available in the village. Cottage Lodge is a quirky, family run guest house that was awarded Most Sustainable Tourism Business in England 2008 and was a finalist in the Best Bed and Breakfast in South East awards.

The Fox And Hounds - In the heart of the Hampshire countryside is the Fox and Hounds. This cosy pub is in the pretty village of Crawley, near Winchester. The bar, with its 3 open log fires, serves a range of meals and a selection of English ales, lagers, wines and sprits. Rooms are separate from the pub itself, and each has its own fridge. A typical, quiet, English rural village, Crawley has a pond, church and many thatched cottages. The Fox and Hounds has been part of village life since the 19th century. The pub was rebuilt in 1910 in a Tudor style.
