Aonach Mor- Aonach Mor is a traditional boutique establishment in a quiet yet accessible residential area near the city centre. Free Wi-Fi is provided to all guests. 6 Caberfeidh- This family-run establishment is 5 minutes' walk from train and bus stations, and 2 minutes' walk from the High Street and restaurants. Hosts Wilma and Jim have run 6 Caberfeidh as a B&B for 18 years and have many return-customers and friends. Jim has a taxi for tours and local runs and can help with local knowledge and advice on where to go for day trips etc. The cosy Tourist Board-rated establishment has en suite rooms, and offers a choice of vegetarian, continental and full Scottish breakfast. There is also a nice four-poster room with a corner bath and a view over the loch.

Cairnryan House- Set directly across from the shore of Loch Ryan, and boasting uninterrupted views, this licensed guest house is 500 metres from Cairnryan ferry terminal and 5 minutes from Stranraer terminal. Originally the Manse, the family-run Cairnryan House was built in 1894 and still retains many of its original features. All of the en suite rooms are non-smoking and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of features to ensure your comfort. Most of the rooms have views over Loch Ryan. Guests can sit in the beer garden with a drink, whilst watching the ferries go by. There is off-road parking for 10 cars. Unfortunately, children under 13 years cannot stay at Cairnryan House.

Tarbet Guest House- Situated in Scotland's first National Park, this charming guest house is set high above the village of Tarbet, boasting spectacular views over Loch Lomond and towards the western side of Ben Lomond. Set in nearly 7 acres of private gardens, less than one hour from Glasgow, to the north-east side of the house is an attractive woodland which is frequented by deer and other wildlife. This includes a beautiful waterfall which feeds various deep pools on the East Burn, on its way to Loch Lomond. Tarbet House was cleverly designed to take full advantage of the site's elevated position and the stunning Loch views. With this in mind, the lounge and dining areas both have floor-to-ceiling windows, stretching the entire length of both rooms. The views from here are truly breathtaking. Patio doors open out onto a south-facing, decked sun terrace.

The Hawthorns- This traditional Scottish bed and breakfast is situated in the heart of picturesque Drymen, the first stop on the West Highland Way and at the beginning of Rob Roy Way. The Hawthorns is a comfortable resting place if you wish to explore the delights of the surrounding areas of Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The village of Drymen boasts excellent pubs and village stores. All rooms at The Hawthorns are carefully decorated and finished to a very high standard. The Farmhouse At Yetholm Mill- The Farmhouse at Yetholm Mill can be found in Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders, and is perfectly situated for exploring Kelso, the Borders and Northumberland. The house has recently been refurbished and enjoys spectacular views. St Cuthbert's Way and the Pennine Way will suit walkers, and if you enjoy cycling, golf, fishing or birdwatching then this is the place for you. There is also racing at Kelso racecourse. There are also plenty of historic buildings to be explored.

St Andrews Guest House- This cosy guest house is conveniently situated just 300 metres from Irvine town centre, close to bars, restaurants and the town's popular shopping centre. St Andrews Guest House was renovated in 2007 and now features a whisky themed dining room with whisky barrels and literature on the 'water of life'. Golf and whisky packages are a speciality of the guest house, with over 50 golf courses within an hour's drive and 3 distilleries within one hour 30 minutes drive away. The guest house is just a short drive away from Glasgow Prestwick Airport and a free courtesy bus is available for Ryanair passengers (minimum 2 night stay. Invernairne- Invernairne has a great position overlooking the Moray Firth, and from the garden you can stroll down a path to the beach. This historic mansion has one of the best positions in Nairn, and many of its rooms overlook the sea. Try and spot dolphins, seals, yachts or a beautiful sunset. Invernairne has free Wi-Fi and excellent breakfasts are available. A baronial lounge bar is open until the early evening and hosts a log fire in cooler months.
