Pitcullen Guest House- This charming, 3-star guest house has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a great location, just 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Perth and all of its attractions Pitcullen used to be a large family home and for the past 25 years it has been run as one of Perth's best known guest houses. In October 2007, Pitcullen was taken over by Peter McGinnis and it is now run as a very friendly and relaxed guest house offering a very high standard of personal service. Appletree- The family-run Appletree offers a warm welcome, free parking, free Wi-Fi and an excellent breakfast, all just 2 km from Prestwick Airport and 1 km from the train station. Express bus routes to Glasgow and Edinburgh are 200 metres away and both Prestwick town centre and the seafront are a 5-minute walk away. Appletree has been refurbished, but maintains many of its 19th-century features and has a large garden. All rooms on the ground floor and feature an LCD TV/DVD/CD combo, built-in Freeview and an iPod dock Old Prestwick, St Nicholas and St Cuthberts golf courses are within walking distance, and championship courses are a short drive away. A swimming pool, 2 fitness centres, cricket, tennis and indoor bowls are 500 metres away.

Turas-Mara Guesthouse- A beautifully maintained victorian villa which is close to the town centre and the railway station. Less than 10 minutes from Prestwick Airport. Rhins of Galloway- In lawned gardens, looking out over the waters of Loch Ryan, Rhins of Galloway has a beautiful and yet convenient location, between the 2 ferry ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan. The guest house is just 4 minutes' drive from Stranraer's ferry terminal and only a one-minute drive from Cairnryan, making it ideally positioned for the Stena Line ferries to Belfast and the P&O ferries to Larne. With all the peace and quiet of an out-of-town, semi-rural location, Rhins of Galloway is nevertheless within a short drive of the area's shops and eateries. In a spacious and relaxed setting, all of the high-quality en suite accommodation is comfortable, clean and well presented. Despite the style and stature of the building, the fact that there is no licensed bar or restaurant means that Rhins of Galloway is defined as a guest house rather than as a hotel. The Farmhouse At Yetholm Mill- The Farmhouse at Yetholm Mill can be found in Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders, and is perfectly situated for exploring Kelso, the Borders and Northumberland. The house has recently been refurbished and enjoys spectacular views. St Cuthbert's Way and the Pennine Way will suit walkers, and if you enjoy cycling, golf, fishing or birdwatching then this is the place for you. There is also racing at Kelso racecourse. There are also plenty of historic buildings to be explored.

Sakura Guest House- This guest house has free Wi-Fi and a central location close to Edinburgh castle and the shopping centre. Sakura is a Victorian guest house on a main bus route. In the surrounding area are many good restaurants and pubs. Rooms with en suite bathrooms are available, as well as those with shared or private facilities.

Since taking over in December 1999, your hosts, Hilary and her partner John, have sympathetically modernised and completely refurbished the hotel. All of the comfortable and attractive en suite rooms are individually decorated. All rooms have TVs, telephones, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. With spectacular views over the streams to the mountains beyond, the bar and restaurant offer home-cooked meals, made with superb local produce.

Abertay Guest House- This friendly, family-run guest house with free private parking is convenient for the town centre, beaches and transport. The city of Dundee is approximately 5 miles (8 km) away and is easily reached by bus. Many famous golf courses are within 10 to 20 minutes' drive and a secure lock-up facility for clubs is available. Abertay Guest House has a wireless internet connection and in-house office facilities. There is a full breakfast menu and a set dinner menu on request.

Tarbet Guest House- Situated in Scotland's first National Park, this charming guest house is set high above the village of Tarbet, boasting spectacular views over Loch Lomond and towards the western side of Ben Lomond. Set in nearly 7 acres of private gardens, less than one hour from Glasgow, to the north-east side of the house is an attractive woodland which is frequented by deer and other wildlife. This includes a beautiful waterfall which feeds various deep pools on the East Burn, on its way to Loch Lomond. Tarbet House was cleverly designed to take full advantage of the site's elevated position and the stunning Loch views. With this in mind, the lounge and dining areas both have floor-to-ceiling windows, stretching the entire length of both rooms. The views from here are truly breathtaking. Patio doors open out onto a south-facing, decked sun terrace.

Cairnryan House- Set directly across from the shore of Loch Ryan, and boasting uninterrupted views, this licensed guest house is 500 metres from Cairnryan ferry terminal and 5 minutes from Stranraer terminal. Originally the Manse, the family-run Cairnryan House was built in 1894 and still retains many of its original features. All of the en suite rooms are non-smoking and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of features to ensure your comfort. Most of the rooms have views over Loch Ryan. Guests can sit in the beer garden with a drink, whilst watching the ferries go by. There is off-road parking for 10 cars. Unfortunately, children under 13 years cannot stay at Cairnryan House.

Campfield House- Perfectly situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Campfield House is a friendly, family- run bed and breakfast, 3 miles (4.8 km) from Fort William. All comfortable rooms have en suite facilities and a Freeview TV. Some rooms have stunning views over the loch. An inclusive full English breakfast is also provided. 6 Caberfeidh- This family-run establishment is 5 minutes' walk from train and bus stations, and 2 minutes' walk from the High Street and restaurants. Hosts Wilma and Jim have run 6 Caberfeidh as a B&B for 18 years and have many return-customers and friends. Jim has a taxi for tours and local runs and can help with local knowledge and advice on where to go for day trips etc. The cosy Tourist Board-rated establishment has en suite rooms, and offers a choice of vegetarian, continental and full Scottish breakfast. There is also a nice four-poster room with a corner bath and a view over the loch.

Abbotsfordlodge- With a 4-star Visit Scotland award, Abbotsfordlodge is a spacious Victorian property, refurbished in a contemporary style. It is located on the edge of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Abbotsford Lodge is within walking distance of all amenities. There is off-street parking, with an area for motorbikes and secure storage for cycles. Walking, pony trekking, water sports, golfing and fishing are nearby, and Abbotsford Lodge has drying facilities for wet-weather gear.

Talbot Hotel- A fine example of Victorian architecture, this charming, family-run house provides an array of beautiful rooms, from a traditional public bar to a modern airy lounge and 3 contrasting restaurants.
