Bonningtons Bed and Breakfast - This Grade 2 Listed building is set amid landscaped gardens, and is just 3 miles (4.8 km) from London Stansted Airport. Greenways Lodge provide a free morning transfer to Stansted Airport. There are many beautiful forest and lake walks in the National Trust nature reserve area of Hatfield Forest Country Park, bordering Stansted Airport. All rooms are comfortably furnished, with en suite facilities and a TV. There is Wi-Fi access in all rooms. A lobby computer and printer are also available. The Lodge is close to a great country pub, serving evening meals and snacks. Free land-line phone calls are also offered to most countries, including the EU nations, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. London is just 45 minutes away by express train and Cambridge is a 20-minute train journey away.

Bull Hotel - Originally built in 1398, the Bull is best described as a high street pub with bedrooms; offering warmth, character and individuality, the lively pub is the social centre of this Essex town. Halstead is a quaint, but often busy, north Essex town, particularly at weekends. Situated in the heart of the town, at the bottom of the High Street, the building has been a coaching inn for over 500 years. The Bull boasts a warm comfortable ambience, relaxed dining, an extensive menu and an inviting bar with a fantastic range of beers, wines and spirits. A hearty full English breakfast is served every morning. With a vibrant and lively atmosphere, the pub offers regular live music nights and karaoke at the weekends until late into the evenings. All major sporting events are shown on the big-screen plasma TVs in the bars. Please note that bedrooms are affected by noise from the bars at weekends.

South Lodge Hotel - The South Lodge Hotel is an attractive Victorian town house and has recently been carefully refurbished and modernized whilst retaining a warm, homely atmosphere. The hotel is a short walk from Chelmsford town center and the county cricket ground and is conveniently located near the A12 and M25 motorway. South Bar & Restaurant is an a la carte restaurant that offers contemporary French inspired cuisine in a relaxing environment. The restaurant, bar area and functions rooms have all been refurbished and modernized but still provide a comforting homely atmosphere.

Pheasant Lodge and Pheasant Suite - With a beautiful, peaceful countryside location, in the grounds of a non-working farm, this beautiful lodge and suite offer luxurious accommodation, free Wi-Fi and superb breakfasts. The Pheasant Lodge and Pheasant Suite are situated in the grounds of Balls Farm, a 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by fields and wildlife. Stifford Clays Farmhouse Hotel - This beautifully converted farmhouse is set in landscaped gardens and is close to Dartford, Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres. It has lovely countryside views and plenty of amenities. The B&B is convenient for the Dartford crossing and the M25. London Excel and City Airport can be reached in a 20-minute drive. Stifford Clays was built in the 18th century and has a mulberry tree that is hundreds of years old and is one of only 18 of its kind in the UK. Soldiers were accommodated here during the World Wars. Room are spread across the main building and an annexe. Most of the bedrooms have been newly refurbished and decorated to a high standard.

The Lion Inn - An independent hotel with a continental feel, the Lion Inn has a stylish bar, an elegant bistro-style restaurant and spacious air-conditioned rooms flat-screen TVs and free wired internet. For many years, the Lion Inn was a traditional pub. Now, after a stylish yet sympathetic refurbishment, it has been transformed into a contemporary bistro and bar with luxurious en suite rooms. All of the deluxe air-conditioned rooms have modern flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and free wired internet access. Some of the rooms have balconies overlooking the garden, while others have direct access to the garden via their very own terrace. Stylishly decorated with antiques and salvaged furniture, the bar has a light, contemporary style. A natural extension to the bar area, the restaurant maintains this elegant mix of old and new. Full-height windows offer fantastic views of the terrace and the menu is based on good old traditional pub food with a modern contemporary twist.

The Gleneagles Hotel - Overlooking the beautiful cliff gardens and with panoramic sea views, the Gleneagles offers 4-star guest accommodation within Southend's tranquil conservation area. Gleneagles is a Grade II listed building, which has now been completely refurbished, restoring it to its former glory. The location is perfect for both business and holiday travellers, with the town, transport links, theatres, quality restaurants and the pier/sea front all just a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's coffee house and residents' bar is a comfortable place to enjoy the view and relax with the papers. A full range of coffee and tea is served with cakes, light savoury lunches or snacks. Unfortunately, due to the age of the building, the Gleneagles hotel does not have a lift.
