Stifford Clays Farmhouse Hotel - This beautifully converted farmhouse is set in landscaped gardens and is close to Dartford, Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres. It has lovely countryside views and plenty of amenities. The B&B is convenient for the Dartford crossing and the M25. London Excel and City Airport can be reached in a 20-minute drive. Stifford Clays was built in the 18th century and has a mulberry tree that is hundreds of years old and is one of only 18 of its kind in the UK. Soldiers were accommodated here during the World Wars. Room are spread across the main building and an annexe. Most of the bedrooms have been newly refurbished and decorated to a high standard.

Latchmead Bed and Breakfast - In the heart of the Essex countryside and 7 miles from Stansted Airport, this B&B offers beautiful views and excellent accommodation. The Latchmead offers free shuttles to the airport between 04:15 and 09:00, and early-starter breakfasts for guests leaving before 07:30. Built in the 1930s, Latchmead offers excellent overnight accommodation for guests. All rooms are recently refurbished, spacious and welcoming, featuring a TV and DVD player, a fridge, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.

The Gleneagles Hotel - Overlooking the beautiful cliff gardens and with panoramic sea views, the Gleneagles offers 4-star guest accommodation within Southend's tranquil conservation area. Gleneagles is a Grade II listed building, which has now been completely refurbished, restoring it to its former glory. The location is perfect for both business and holiday travellers, with the town, transport links, theatres, quality restaurants and the pier/sea front all just a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's coffee house and residents' bar is a comfortable place to enjoy the view and relax with the papers. A full range of coffee and tea is served with cakes, light savoury lunches or snacks. Unfortunately, due to the age of the building, the Gleneagles hotel does not have a lift.

This can be explored by visiting the town's impressive 13th century church, the 15th century guildhall and John Webb's windmill, which houses a museum of rural life. Stansted Airport is only a 15-minute drive away.

Bull Hotel - Originally built in 1398, the Bull is best described as a high street pub with bedrooms; offering warmth, character and individuality, the lively pub is the social centre of this Essex town. Halstead is a quaint, but often busy, north Essex town, particularly at weekends. Toiletries and towels are provided. The Barn Annexe has good access to London, Cambridge, Bishop's Stortford and Harlow. Free transfers can be arranged to Stansted airport during fixed hours. An excellent village pub is nearby, serving lunch and dinner and there is a golf course a short drive away from the annexe.
