The White House Experience - This licensed country guest house is situated just 3 kilometres (2 miles) from junction 40 of the M6/A66, offering you a small, luxurious and homely alternative to regular travel accommodation. Some hotels and guesthouses can be very impersonal and soulless, treating each guest as little more than a name or number. Rose Cottage - A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.

Brooklands Guest House - With superb views of Lake Windermere and the fells of the Lake District, this charming family-run guest house has a beautiful, peaceful location, just south of Bowness. Looking out over Windermere, the guest house is a short walk from the shops and cafes of Bowness-on-Windermere. The landscaped garden features level lawns, attractive sitting areas, an ornamental pond and a wide variety of mature flowering shrubs and bushes.

All of the comfortable en suite rooms have a widescreen TV and some of the rooms have stunning sea views of Morecambe Bay. There is a DVD library for guests and all rooms have comfortable sofas. The centre of Grange-over-Sands is a 5-minute walk away, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants. Golf courses are also close by. The Corner Beech House is just a short drive from Windermere, Kendal and Coniston in The Lake District.
