All Seasons Guest House - This traditional Lakeland stone-built house offers comfortable accommodation in a great location, in the centre of the village of Windermere, in the heart of the beautiful Lake District. The house was originally built in 1854 for the railway, which arrived in Windermere at around that time. Today, the house's great location makes it a wonderful base from which to explore the stunning natural beauty and breathtaking scenery of the Lake District, which so inspired Wordsworth, Wainwright and Beatrix Potter. Windermere train and coach station is just a 3-minute walk away and all of the town's pubs and restaurants are also nearby. The house still retains its beautiful original exterior, slate roof and several other lovely period features. There are 3 comfortable, modern en suite rooms with showers, and one room with private facilities. Each room is comfortable and well equipped, with a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities.

The Log House - In the heart of the English Lake District, this historic Norwegian log cabin is now a restaurant and bar with 3 comfortable en suite rooms, all with LCD flat-screen TVs, DVD players and free Wi-Fi. The stylish and contemporary restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy superb food, made with delicious, fresh seasonal produce from the region. There are 3 double rooms above the restaurant. Two still have the original log beams and the third has stunning views over the fells. Each has an en suite shower room, hairdryer, tea/coffee, and luxurious bathroom products from the White Company. In the town of Ambleside, at the head of Windermere, the Log House was originally brought to the Lake District by local artist Alfred Heaton Cooper nearly 100 years ago. Cooper used the cabin as a home and studio, but today it is a 4-star restaurant with rooms.

The Bay House Lake View Guest House - With stunning views of Lake Windermere, this traditional stone-built Lakeland cottage has been recently refurbished, combining beautiful original features with modern comforts. Originally built in around 1860, the Bay House Lake View Guest House has a fabulous lakeside location in the charming old town of Bowness-on-Windermere. The town's shops, pubs and restaurants are only a few minutes' walk away, as is the Bowness Pier, from where you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on the lake. In the heart of the English Lake District, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the guest house has spectacular views over the lake from 4 of its 6 en suite rooms. Newly refurbished and tastefully decorated in keeping with the age and character of the property, all of the rooms have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. The guest house is family-run and your hosts, Sandra & Colin, have spent great care on sensitively upgrading the house.

Ellerbrook House - Ellerbrook House is small, family-run guest house in a quiet leafy street just a few minutes' walk from shops, cafes and restaurants, and a 15-minute walk from Lake Windermere. The staff pride themselves on high standards and quality, and provide a friendly, welcoming and comfortable environment for exploring the Lake District. Rooms are well-appointed and situated on 2 floors, with either en-suite or private facilities. All rooms are well equipped with an LCD TV/DVD and hospitality tray.

Somerset House BandB - Somerset House is in the town centre, 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. With free Wi-Fi, all rooms are en suite and there is a licensed bar and bistro open until 22:00 every day. Families with children of all ages are welcome. Somerset House is also suitable for pets. You can also bring your bike to Somerset House, which is on the W2W Route 20 cycle route. Somerset House is close to all the amenities of Grange-over-Sands. The nearby railway station has direct links to Manchester Airport.

Wheyrigg Hall Hotel - A splendid 3 diamond hotel on the Solway Plain close to the lakes, hills and Carlisle. Also close to the Scottish borders, Gretna Green and the Roman wall, river and badlands. Wheyrigg Hall is a family run hotel bar and restaurant set in a rural location. Originally an old farmhouse, the hotel has been converted to provide comfortable accommodation. There is ample car parking and there are two separate function rooms providing seating for fifty and one hundred people so the Wheyrigg Hall is an ideal venue for conferences, weddings or other family celebrations. There is also a spacious dining room, lounge and bar with a homely cottage atmosphere. Well known for its good food, not just locally, but much further afield in this country and abroad, Wheyriggs specialities include succulent duckling, traditional roasted turkey, baked ham in cider and local prime steaks. Home baking is a feature of our scrumptious sweet trolley and locally produced fresh vegetables are used whenever possible. Lunch, high tea and dinner are served daily in addition to our popular bar meals.

Beech Hill House B and B - In an unspoilt corner of the Lake District National Park, this traditional Lakeland home is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District and South Lakes Furness Peninsulas. Beech Hill House is just 8 minutes from the M6 (J36), just off the A590 at Witherslack. The B&B is surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District. Whether travelling alone, with friends or family, or even with your dog, Beech Hill will be happy to adapt to your needs. Start the day with a traditional Lakeland breakfast, made with local produce and served in the sunny conservatory. Enjoy dinner at one of the many local pubs and restaurants. It's with regret that children under the age of 5 cannot be accommodated.

Cherry Garth Guest House - Cherry Garth is a non-smoking house situated in Ambleside at the Heart of the English Lake District. We are less than five minutes walk from both the centre of Ambleside and Lake Windermere. Guests benefit from a sunny south westerly aspect with wonderful views over the surrounding Lakeland fells. We have 12 en-suite bedrooms including four-poster, deluxe and family sized rooms. The landscaped garden features level lawns, attractive sitting areas, an ornamental pond and a wide variety of mature flowering shrubs and bushes.

Laurel Cottage - Peacefully situated in Windermere, overlooking Queens Park, this guest house is a short stroll from the amenities in the village and about 20 minutes' walk from the Lake and Bowness. Laurel Cottage is convenient for Windermere rail and bus station and is an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District. The guest house is set within a small Victorian house built of local stone in the 1890s. It has been modernised to offer up-to-date comforts, but has retained its original character. Laurel Cottage is run by the owners Alison and Wayne, who offer a warm and friendly welcome.
