The White House Experience - This licensed country guest house is situated just 3 kilometres (2 miles) from junction 40 of the M6/A66, offering you a small, luxurious and homely alternative to regular travel accommodation. Some hotels and guesthouses can be very impersonal and soulless, treating each guest as little more than a name or number. Crow How Country Guest House - In a stunning rural setting in the historic Rydal Valley amidst the fells, this grand Victorian building dates back to 1848. Crow How was built as a farm house in 1848 from the stones of ancient Rydal Hall. It was then converted into a country guest house in the early 1930s. Crow How has been carefully renovated to provide you with a well-located Ambleside bed and breakfast, ideal for exploring the the beautiful Lake District.

Newstead House BandB - On the south-west edge of the Lake District, this small and beautiful B&B has 2 lovely rooms with excellent views. Stunning coastal scenery and peaceful Silecroft Beach are nearby. There many activities in the local area, including golf, watersports, horse riding and Muncaster Castle. Guests can share a lounge which has a TV, DVD player, Wii, games, books and a log fire on winter evenings. At Newstead House you can enjoy a breakfast with homemade jams; afternoon tea; and evening meals featuring fresh local produce.

Rose Cottage - A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.

Southview Guest House and Indoor Pool - Southview is a luxury bed and breakfast licensed guesthouse, with its own indoor heated swimming pool in the heart of Windermere. Situated in quiet cul-de-sac position overlooking the town centre, Southview is only a 2 minute walk from various bars and restaurants. Southview is a non-smoking guest house, offering a high standard in service and hospitality with a focus on perfection and your satisfaction. All of our rooms are individually furnished and decorated, each with an en suite and central heating. Our classic en suite rooms feature double bedded accommodation with en suite showers and one with a twin/king-size double bed. Our superbly appointed luxury rooms (double bedded) feature en suite spa baths or body jet showers, large screen TVs and DVD players. For that extra special visit, we even have a king-size contemporary four-poster bedroom. We also offer as an optional chargeable extra - celebration packages consisting of champagne, chocolates and flowers.

Strands Hotel - Strands Hotel/Inn was built in the eighteen hundreds. The building is nestling in the heart of Wasdale Valley, which has beautiful views of the surrounding fells. It is situated only a short walk from the Deepest Lake (Wastwater) in England, also the Highest Mountain (Scawfell) and the Smallest Church which is at Wasdale Head. Mark, Lesley and family have run this typical Lakeland Hotel since June 2006. Mark brews his own ales, our home cooked traditional food is very popular with visitors and locals.

Waverley Hotel - The Waverley Hotel, Workington, offers quality, exceptional value accommodation with a wide variety of room styles. The Waverley Hotel is situated in the historic coastal town of Workington, Cumbria. The Waverley Hotel is within easy walking distance of bus and rail terminals, local shops, theatres, parks, Workington speedway, rugby league and rugby union, Workington Reds football stadiums as well as other Workington central amenities. Nearby attractions include a variety of craft outlets and artisans producing beautiful gifts and momentos to remind you of your stay. We have 25 en suite bedrooms, 4 standard rooms and a selection of individually designed executive suites giving a maximum occupancy of 50 guests. All bedrooms contain the usual modern amenities with tea/coffee making facilities, colour tv, hair dryer, direct dial telephones, broadband internet access, luxury toiletries, tourist information, notepads etc. a separate ironing room is available, however executive suites include an ironing station, fresh flowers and complimentary welcome pack (wine, fresh fruit, still water and chocolates). Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift.

Low House - This 17th-century Lakeland country home offers delicious cooking, cosy open fires, free Wi-Fi and a warm welcome, all in a peaceful setting just 5 minutes from local amenities. Low House is located within a mile of Windermere and a few hundred metres from Windermere Golf Club. All the facilities of Windermere are 25 minutes' walk away. The house is filled with antiques, books and paintings, as well as modern, useful facilities. The bedrooms have king-size beds and Molton Brown toiletries.

St Johns Lodge - The ideal position for a relaxing break, the hotel is set within a 10-minute walk of the village of Windermere and the famous lake at Bowness Bay. Exclusively for non-smoking adults (children over 12 welcome), the hotel is within easy reach of a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. The train and bus stations are also within a 15-minute walk, allowing you to explore the wonderful surroundings. During your stay you can visit Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England. Accessed in the nearby village of Bowness, here you can hire boats or take lake cruises. Roa Island House - With the charm and elegance of Edwardian times, this impressive 19th-century building offers quality accommodation and outstanding sea views. With a unique location on Roa Island, the house is on the water's edge at Morecambe Bay. There is a garden with superb views of the Bay and Piel Island. Roa Island House offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere away from busy 21st-century life. All rooms are individually furnished, with flat-screen digital TV and hospitality tray. The en suite facilities are stunning. Enjoy breakfast in the dining room with striking sea views out towards Piel Island and Piel Castle. In summer, you can eat in the sun-drenched conservatory. There is a light lunch menu, and packed lunches can be made up for walkers and travellers. The evening menu caters for all, including vegetarians and younger guests. Facilities also include a very cosy TV lounge, complete with a log burner. An outstanding feature is the tower room, with spectacular views over Morecambe Bay.
