Wheyrigg Hall Hotel - A splendid 3 diamond hotel on the Solway Plain close to the lakes, hills and Carlisle. Also close to the Scottish borders, Gretna Green and the Roman wall, river and badlands. The Westbourne - The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house in a peaceful area below Biskey Howe, a local beauty spot and panoramic viewpoint. Lake Windermere and the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere are a short walk away. The traditionally stone-built guest house has elegant bedrooms with modern designs and high ceilings for a light and spacious feel.

Rothay Garth - The Rothay Garth is a traditional Lakeland guest house with beautiful gardens and superb mountain views in the heart of Ambleside village. The guest house has easy access to Lake Windermere and Ambleside, and there are plenty of Lake District walks very close by. Oakthorpe and Lamplighter Bar - In the heart of the town of Windermere, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District, this attractive Victorian building is now a family-owned guest house and pub. Close to all that the town has to offer, the Oakthorpe and Lamplighter Bar has a good location, only a two-minute walk from Windermere Railway Station and just off the A591, which runs right through the Lake District. Lake Windermere is just 5 minutes away by car or only a 15-minute stroll from the front door. There is a large, free car park. A range of accommodation is available to suit the needs and budget of any traveller. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and rooms with shared bathroom facilities are also available. Delicious food and real ales are served in both the restaurant and the Lamplighter Bar. Seafood is a speciality, with fresh fish delivered daily from Fleetwood.

Westbury House - This 3-star rated, Lakeland-stone, Victorian house is set in a quiet side street, approximately 5 minutes' walk from the train/bus station. Jo and Alan offer quality accommodation and excellent value for money. They are very happy to advise you on any walks and have maps to assist you. They can also book you on to tours and make dinner reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the surrounding area, or beyond. The house is situated opposite Ellerthwaite Park and is a gentle 20-minute walk from Lake Windermere itself.

1 Park Road - 1 Park Road is a tranquil, modern and luxury guest house. It is located a 2-minute walk from Windermere town centre and a 10-minute walk from Bowness and the train station. Luxury rooms are spacious and contemporary in design with Moroccan drapes, modern soft-furnishings, views of the distant hills, sofas and king-size beds. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.
