The Woolpack Inn- Rich in historic character and traditional charm, this stone-built coaching inn originally dates back to the 1500s and today offers comfortable en suite rooms and delicious food. In the charming Somerset village of Beckington, 11 miles (18 km) south of Bath and just 3 miles (5 km) from Frome, the Woolpack Inn offers a warm welcome and a relaxing stay with that little touch of luxury. The inn offers delicious freshly prepared dishes, include game from the local shoot and fish delivered daily from Brixham. There is also an excellent menu, featuring tasty home-cooked meals and desserts. The village of Sidbury is ideally situated for walkers and those seeking a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere in this beautiful part of the countryside. There is a bus stop directly outside the pub, with a good, regular bus service running regularly.

The Queens Head Hotel- This 17th-century coaching inn is located on Ashby's main high street. Family run, it offers home-cooked English food and a lively weekend nightclub. The Queen's Head Hotel is close to all the main local motorways, and a short journey from Birmingham and East Midlands Airport. An intimate front bar is open until either 22:30 (Sunday), 23:00 (Monday to Wednesday), 00:00 (Thursday) or 01:00 (Friday and Saturday). On Fridays and Saturdays, the hotel features Ciros Night Club (open till 02:00) and The Loft Bar (open till 01:00). It's popular and so a bit noisy, but residents are on the club's guest list. The hotel also features a large outside smoking area and a TV lounge.

The Castle BandB- The Castle is a stylish and friendly bar, restaurant and B&B in Cambridge's historical centre. It is close to the university colleges and the punts on the River Cam. The Castle has an excellent location just minutes away from the city sights and metres from excellent shopping. It is well positioned for Cambridge's bustling nightlife, restaurants, bars and clubs. Delicious food is available in the restaurant, and private functions can be catered for, on request. Very popular party nights are held on Fridays and Saturdays. Please be aware that these go on into the early hours and may not suit all guests.

The Richmoor Hotel- This is a lovely family-run hotel on Weymouth seafront. It has a friendly, homely atmosphere, excellent home-cooked food and cheap bar prices. The Richmoor Hotel is at the quieter end of the seafront but within walking distance of the town centre and Greenhill Gardens. All the en suite rooms were refurbished in the last 2 years and come with plenty of facilities. Some rooms have sea views over Weymouth Bay. The staff are helpful and sociable, and you can enjoy live entertainment in the bar.

Homesdale- With heated pool and secluded garden, this friendly, modern and well-run B&B is on a bus route to Stansted Airport, Bishop's Stortford town centre and the railway station. Homesdale is ideal for guests wishing to make day trips to either London (south) or Cambridge (north). Both cities are 35 minutes by fast train from Bishop's Stortford. All rooms are en suite, non smoking and have free Wi-Fi, Sky TV and tea/coffee. Continental breakfast is included; full English breakfast and evening meals are available on request. The village has a fine pub, restaurant and post office, all within walking distance. Late check-in and safe off-road parking available.

The Harley- Next to Sheffield University and the city's hospitals, just 5 minutes from the city centre, this small hotel has a lively bar and comfortable rooms. All of the en suite rooms at The Harley are simple, yet well appointed, with tea/coffee making facilities. A full English breakfast is included in the rate. The Harley has a busy bar downstairs, which can get noisy, and has club nights at the weekend (the hotel does provide earplugs). Late check-outs, until 13:00, are available at weekends for those who are here to party! Please note that check-in on Saturday and Sunday is from 15:00 (not 14:00).

Bloomfield House was built in the 1790s and was once the home of the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. It is a Grade II listed building and has good environmental credentials. Pets are welcome at Bloomfield House. Full English breakfasts are organic, Fair Trade and ingredients are provided by local suppliers. Each room is individually styled, with either a four-poster or half-tester bed.

Wellington- In a quiet part of Westminster, close to Victoria Station and just a short walk from Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, this Edwardian building offers comfortable accommodation at great-value rates. The Estate House is well place for coastal attractions such as Holy Island and Bamburgh.
