Stay in unique building in a superb setting. You can choose to breakfast in the conservatory or in the pine-panelled main dining room, which was once the ballroom of the mansion.

Built in 1897 with traditional, local Lakeland stone, the house still boasts many beautiful original Victorian features including its splendid hall and staircase, marble fireplaces and mahogany woodwork. Bland, soulless, contemporary design has been avoided in the decoration of the house, in favour of the elegant styles of the Arts and Crafts, Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements, recalling the splendour of Victorian times. Rose Cottage- A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.

Berties- This historic building has enjoyed a variety of uses over the years. In the 18th Century it became a coaching house called the Kings Head. In 1995 it was renamed 'Bertie's' after the P.G Woodhouse character Bertie Wooster. Our team of chefs have gained recognition from the aa and Good Food Guide. Bertie's specialises in traditional British fayre but our chefs have blended culinary nostalgia with modern flair and created a very different menu. The menu may feature 'Homemade fishcakes with a tomato herb sauce' alongside 'Brochettes of monkfish with a lemon and chervil dressing' or perhaps 'pork and herb sausages on a bed of mustard mash' alongside 'Roasted rack of lamb with figs and a sauce of ginger'. It is not all full meals, we serve simple lunches and snacks using the finest fresh local produce. In the evening the restaurant is transformed with linen napkins and candles. Parties are catered for with special menus available on request. We can also offer very comfortable guest rooms. these are all en-suite with a television, as well as tea and coffee making facility
