Express bus routes to Glasgow and Edinburgh are 200 metres away and both Prestwick town centre and the seafront are a 5-minute walk away. Appletree has been refurbished, but maintains many of its 19th-century features and has a large garden. All rooms on the ground floor and feature an LCD TV/DVD/CD combo, built-in Freeview and an iPod dock Old Prestwick, St Nicholas and St Cuthberts golf courses are within walking distance, and championship courses are a short drive away. A swimming pool, 2 fitness centres, cricket, tennis and indoor bowls are 500 metres away.

Aonach Mor- Aonach Mor is a traditional boutique establishment in a quiet yet accessible residential area near the city centre. Free Wi-Fi is provided to all guests. Please note that as the hotel has a 'pets welcome' policy it may not be suitable for people with pet allergies. There is a central, feature staircase in the hotel (no lift), and the lowest bedrooms are on the second floor. Edinburgh First At The University Of Edinburgh- Based at Pollock Halls at Holyrood Park, this varied B&B campus accommodation is close to the city centre and parliament buildings. Edinburgh First accommodation lies in the shadow of Arthur's Seat and is near to the Royal Mile and the Palace of Holyrood House. Breakfast is served between 07:30 and 10:00 in the self-service restaurant at John McIntyre Conference Centre in the centre of the campus, about 5 minutes' walk from each bedroom.

Nethermains Lodge- In a peaceful yet convenient location, this 19th century farmhouse is close to the A78 and approximately 15 minutes from Prestwick Airport and 40 minutes from Glasgow International Airport. Local train stations and major road links to Glasgow, Troon, Kilmarnock, Ayr and Largs can be accessed easily. The beautiful harbour-side area is 5 minutes' drive away and is adjacent to Irvine Beach Park, Magnum Leisure Centre and the popular Bridgegate shopping mall. There are 5 golf courses within easy reach of the Lodge: between 0.8 km and 40 km away. Transport to and from the courses is available. Nethermains Lodge is run informally and you can come and go as you please. Each room has en suite or private facilities. There is ample free private parking within the grounds, which is covered by CCTV.

Glenavon- Glenavon is a family home within 10 minutes' walk of Oban town centre, offering rooms with TV and DVD players. All bedrooms at Glenavon share a bathroom and offer tea/coffee and a radio alarm clock. A continental breakfast can be provided in your room for a small additional cost (although this must be booked in advance). There is a limited amount of private parking to the rear of Glenavon.

Edinburgh House Hotel- Edinburgh House Hotel has a warm, homely atmosphere, en suite accommodation and free on-street parking. It is within 1 mile (1.6 km) of Waverley Rail Station and the city centre. The good-value, friendly hotel is situated just off the Lieth Walk in a quiet neighbourhood. Bus transport is just metres away, and the hotel has a 24-hour taxi service. The hotel bar is open 24 hours a day for guests. Opposite the house is a large park with children's play areas. Most of Edinburgh's popular attractions, including the famous castle, Princes Street Gardens, Holyrood Palace and the Botanic Gardens are easily accessible. Cinemas, the theatre and nightlife are in the local area.

Cairnryan House- Set directly across from the shore of Loch Ryan, and boasting uninterrupted views, this licensed guest house is 500 metres from Cairnryan ferry terminal and 5 minutes from Stranraer terminal. Originally the Manse, the family-run Cairnryan House was built in 1894 and still retains many of its original features. All of the en suite rooms are non-smoking and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of features to ensure your comfort. Most of the rooms have views over Loch Ryan. Guests can sit in the beer garden with a drink, whilst watching the ferries go by. There is off-road parking for 10 cars. Unfortunately, children under 13 years cannot stay at Cairnryan House.

Rhins of Galloway- In lawned gardens, looking out over the waters of Loch Ryan, Rhins of Galloway has a beautiful and yet convenient location, between the 2 ferry ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan. The guest house is just 4 minutes' drive from Stranraer's ferry terminal and only a one-minute drive from Cairnryan, making it ideally positioned for the Stena Line ferries to Belfast and the P&O ferries to Larne. With all the peace and quiet of an out-of-town, semi-rural location, Rhins of Galloway is nevertheless within a short drive of the area's shops and eateries. In a spacious and relaxed setting, all of the high-quality en suite accommodation is comfortable, clean and well presented. Despite the style and stature of the building, the fact that there is no licensed bar or restaurant means that Rhins of Galloway is defined as a guest house rather than as a hotel. The premises are only open to guests.
