Foelas Arms Hotel - In the picturesque village of Pentrefoelas, 5 miles outside Betws-y-Coed, this small, family-run hotel provides a warm welcome and good value for money. Snowdonia National Park is a 30-minute car-ride away, as is white-water rafting in Bala. The largest outdoor go-karting circuit in North Wales, Glan y Gors, is a 5-minute drive away. Other nearby activities include golf, fishing, hiking and horse riding. In the 19th century, the Royal Mail coach often stopped at the Foelas Arms on its way from London through Betws-y-Coed to Holyhead. Today, the coaching route is the A5. The hotel has refurbished its dining room and offers a wide range of home-cooked food prepared using local produce.

Tadross Hotel - This large Victorian building has character. 40 minutes from Cardiff city centre and 20 minutes from Cardiff International Airport, it offers en suite rooms and free on-site parking (with CCTV). The location of the Tadross Hotel is ideal for those who want easy access to the capital city of Wales, but without the rush, crush or expense. The en suite rooms are of various sizes and include TV and tea/coffee. Cutlery can be provided if you would like to eat in your room. The Tadross Hotel has a breakfast room and a ground-floor bar. Llety Iachad Hotel and Christian Centre - A warm welcome awaits you at this quiet family-run hotel, situated within easy walking distance of the lovely promenade at Colwyn Bay. The hotel is situated close to the shops, railway station and coach stop. Llety Lachad is also within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park and most of the many attractions in North Wales. Single, double/twin and family rooms are available, each with its own television and hospitality tray. Evening meals can be provided if required, and the hotel is strictly non-smoking.

Premier Inn Newport - Just off the M4, at the Coldra Junction, Premier Inn Newport (South Wales) is a good-value, comfy base northeast of Newport, with excellent motorway access toward Cardiff and Bristol. At the hotel you will find an on-site Beefeater restaurant, very comfortable beds and free parking. Some rooms at Premier Inn can take 2 adults and up to 2 children (under 16 years). The 2 children also get a free full breakfast when accompanied by an adult eating a full breakfast. The full all-you-can-eat breakfast has the expected cooked items, including vegetarian sausages, as well as a wide continental selection.

Plas Elwy Hotel - This small, friendly, family run hotel provides modern facilities whilst retaining the character and atmosphere of a property dating back to 1850. You can choose between rooms in the original building which offer the charm of yesteryear, or stay in the modern executive rooms in the Plas Elwy Lodge which offer more space and facilities. The delightful, intimate restaurant with exposed beams and stone fireplace, offers a wide selection of freshly prepared dishes to suit most tastes and budgets. These can be accompanied by a well-chosen selection of reasonably priced wines. Small functions are catered for.

White Waters Country Hotel, Spa and Restaurant - White Waters Hotel is a new hotel situated in delightful surroundings overlooking the River Dee and yet located only one mile from the town centre. ML Lodge - The ML Lodge's location is only 2 minutes' from the Millennium Stadium and is ideal for shopping and nightlife. All rooms are en suite and have a range of excellent facilities. Check-in is across the road at the Sandringham Hotel, which is located opposite the ML Lodge. You can also have free Wi-Fi access at the Sandringham. All rooms feature an LCD flat-screen TV with Freeview. Please note that there are 5 floors at ML Lodge, but unfortunately no lift.

The Hand Hotel - Standing above a beautiful stretch of the River Dee, close to the centre of the pretty market town of Llangollen, the Hand Hotel is rich in traditional charm, with a stunning riverside garden. The hotel is renowned for its home-cooked food, served in the beautiful Georgian restaurant, which overlooks the gardens and the river. The hotel also offers a special bar menu that changes regularly. There are 58 comfortable en suite rooms, all with TVs, radios and tea/coffee making facilities. Some of the rooms have river views. The hotel also offers entertainment, hosting its own popular Welsh evenings, with the Llangollen Male Voice Choir joining in with the residents for a singsong. The Grove Hotel - The Grove is situated in beautiful grounds near St. David's Cathedral. The hotel has an acre of walled gardens and a restaurant and bar for drinks and dining. Grove Hotel has en suite rooms that feature free Wi-Fi internet access and flat-screen TVs. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring St. Davids and the surrounding area.

The Black Boy Inn - The Black Boy Inn is a 16th-century inn within Caernarfon's historic town walls and easy walking distance from the town centre and the famous 13th-century castle. The Black Boy dates back to 1522 and some of its walls are 1.2 to 1.5 metres thick. The wood panelling, low ceilings and thick wooden beams create a cosy atmosphere. Caernarfon is a market town with an open-air market every Saturday (Mondays also in summer).

Belle Vue Royal Hotel - Boasting stunning views over Cardigan Bay, this 3-star hotel is situated on Aberyswyth's Victorian promenade, just a short walk from the town centre, train station and coastal path. The Kings Arms - Possibly the oldest coaching inn in Wales, the friendly Kings Arms has its own micro brewery and an excellent restaurant serving tapas and ? la carte dishes. Standing since at least 1400, the inn still has many original features. It was visited by Roundheads, Cavaliers and even King Charles II. The elegant rooms have reasonable rates and a feeling of relaxed luxury. The Kings Arms is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and about 40 minutes from Cardiff. Newport, the site of the 2010 Ryder Cup, is 20 minutes away. The Kings Arms has its own small cinema and hosts regular live music and special evenings of jazz, comedy and acoustic music. There is also an art gallery and a function area.

Dolbrodmaeth Riverside Hotel - An idyllic place to relax, amid 4 acres of mature gardens and grassland, Dolbrodmaeth overlooks the Dyfi Valley, with views of the River Dyfi flowing into the distance.
