Maenan Abbey Hotel - Situated in the beautiful Conwy Valley, on the outskirts of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. The hotel stands on the site of the original thirteenth-century Cistercian monastery. Built as a gentleman's residence in 1850 on the site of the historic thirteenth-century Cistercian monastery, the hotel is situated within beautiful grounds with the foothills of the Snowdonia range providing a dramatic backdrop. As soon as you walk into our entrance hall, with its magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire, you will immediately feel at home. The hotel has recently undergone a great deal of refurbishment. The restaurant, lobby and lounge have all been refurbished to a very high standard, along with six of our bedrooms, in a style sympathetic to the period of the building. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions, Maenan Abbey offers all modern hotel facilities. All fourteen bedrooms are en suite and offer a flexible mixture of single, doubles, twins, a four-poster bridal suite and three family rooms. Here at the Abbey we pride ourselves on our cooking which offers a unique combination of traditional Welsh fair alongside more contemporary international dishes. We use only the finest products that are locally produced wherever possible and cooked to the highest standard. Our friendly bar is open to the public and attracts many locals and regulars as well as those guests staying with us, whilst our elegant resident's lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet coffee after dinner. We can provide facilities for a variety of functions. We hold a civil ceremony licence for weddings.
