Westbury House - This 3-star rated, Lakeland-stone, Victorian house is set in a quiet side street, approximately 5 minutes' walk from the train/bus station. Jo and Alan offer quality accommodation and excellent value for money. They are very happy to advise you on any walks and have maps to assist you. They can also book you on to tours and make dinner reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the surrounding area, or beyond. The house is situated opposite Ellerthwaite Park and is a gentle 20-minute walk from Lake Windermere itself.

Nagoya Country House - Set in an elevated position, in a peaceful area of Bowness, yet only minutes away from the town centre, this beautiful modern house boasts spectacular views over Lake Windermere. The house is just a stone's throw away from the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District and some of the world's best historical and scenic walks. The convenient location also means you can enjoy a range of water sports on the lake. Also nearby are many places of interest, including the wonderful World of Beatrix Potter. Briscoe Lodge - Briscoe Lodge is 1-minute walk from the centre of Windermere. The Victorian, stone guest house from 1891 has many original features, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Bowness and Lake Windermere are within walking distance, and the train and bus stations can be reached in 10 minutes. The modern rooms have a DVD player with free 24-hour DVD library. The non-smoking house is run on an environmentally friendly basis. Briscoe Lodge offers free, safe on-street parking and an on-site massage service.

Mariner's Inn - Situated in the heart of Bowness, this cosy and traditional Lakeland inn is just 200 yards from Lake Windermere, England's largest lake. All rooms are en-suite with flat-screen TVs and DVD players. There is also an extensive DVD library for guests to use. All rooms have hairdryers and alarm clock radios, and laptops can be used in all rooms and public areas as the inn is Wi-Fi enabled. After a day shopping, sightseeing or walking why not relax in the welcoming traditional bar serving a range of Jennings award-winning, cask conditioned ales, brewed in the Lake District. The inn has been awarded the coveted 'Cask Mark' accreditation in recognition for the way they look after their beers. The Mariner's Inn is the only pub in Bowness to have been awarded this accreditation.

Low House - This 17th-century Lakeland country home offers delicious cooking, cosy open fires, free Wi-Fi and a warm welcome, all in a peaceful setting just 5 minutes from local amenities. Low House is located within a mile of Windermere and a few hundred metres from Windermere Golf Club. All the facilities of Windermere are 25 minutes' walk away. The house is filled with antiques, books and paintings, as well as modern, useful facilities. The bedrooms have king-size beds and Molton Brown toiletries.

Crompton House - Crompton House is a warm and friendly Victorian guest house located midway between the busy villages of Windermere and Bowness. The guest house is a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced bed and breakfast, with an excellent location in the English Lake District National Park, Windermere. The 7 guest rooms are non-smoking and each has an en suite bathroom. There is one four-poster room, one family room and 5 double rooms. A grilled full English breakfast is served in the dining room, as is a good choice of cereals, fruit and juice from the buffet table. Within easy walking distance there is a host of restaurants catering for all tastes and prices. There is also a cinema, nightclubs, pubs and shops. You can catch a steamer from the pier at Bowness for a memorable trip on the lake. This is a 3-star rated guest house.

Hazeldene Guest House - We are situated in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere and offer good quality, non-smoking accommodation suitable for a variety of guests. A range of accommodation is available to suit the needs and budget of any traveller. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and rooms with shared bathroom facilities are also available. Delicious food and real ales are served in both the restaurant and the Lamplighter Bar. Seafood is a speciality, with fresh fish delivered daily from Fleetwood.

Rose Cottage - A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.
