Queen Charlottes Orangery - The Orangery was the 1817 home of Queen Charlotte. It has a rich history, with wonderful rooms around an Italianate courtyard garden - all the luxury of a 5-star hotel, but with a personal touch. Although quite small, The Orangery is one of the finest guest houses in Bath. It is on Sydney Place, which is the street where the novelist Jane Austen once lived. An 8-minute flat walk from the Roman Baths, shops and restaurants, Queen Charlotte's Orangery is centrally located away from the noise. Queen Charlotte was the wife of King George III. In 1871, William Harold III converted the house into a public house and in 1981, the workshops were converted into bed and breakfast accommodation.
