Family-run, the Lyness Guest House has been under new ownership since January 2007 and prides itself on offering a high standard of cleanliness and a friendly atmosphere. Recently refurbished, there is a spacious sea-view bar in which guests can relax and unwind with a large selection of drinks available. Catering for vegetarians and all dietary needs, the staff at the Leeway pride themselves on excellent customer service and will strive to accommodate any reasonable request. Upon arrival, you will be issued with keys giving you 24-hour access to the guest house.

Azalea Court - Privately owned and run, this bed and breakfast is situated directly opposite the International Centre, Conference Centre and Exhibition Centre. Azalea Court has a spacious entrance hall leading to 12 bedrooms including single, double, twin and family rooms, each pleasantly furnished and decorated. There is a large floodlit car park to the rear of the guest house. The town centre is just a few minutes walk away, where there are many good restaurants, shops and pubs. Harrogate is a town with many immaculate gardens, and the newly re-furbished Turkish baths, Royal Hall and swimming pool.

The White Swan Hotel - The White Swan is now Middlham's finest hotel, in a prominent position overlooking the market square. The hotel has 17 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms and combines a traditional flagstone bar, serving a good range of cask ales and wines by the glass, with a contemporary 60 seat brasserie, serving morning coffee, lunch and dinner daily. Middleham castle overlooks the hotel and the town is famous for its horseracing links and is an ideal base for walkers and visitors to the dale.

Dalescroft - Originally built in 1908 for managers of the nearby Rowntree's chocolate factory, the centrally located, friendly Dalescroft has a 3-star rating from the AA. Dalescroft offers bed and breakfast accommodation, each morning serving a full English breakfast in a charming building. Within walking distance of York's historic city centre, Dalescroft is located in the quiet Bishopthorpe Road area of York, just 400 yards (360 metres) from the medieval city walls. Park you car for free and take a pleasant 10-minute stroll along the river into the city. Dalescroft's quiet, but convenient location means that the railway station, racecourse and all of the York's amenities are within walking distance.

The Old Mill - As the name suggests, The Old Mill is a converted windmill circa 1750, which today offers a warm welcome and a relaxing stay. The Old Mill was originally converted to a house in 1968, retaining many of its original features. A subsequent re-vamp was completed in September 2004, complementing the original architecture. The bed and breakfast has a high standard of accommodation and offers a full English breakfast to set you up for the day's activities.

Note: prices are generally (but not always!) cheaper from Sunday night to Thursday night. In addition, York's city centre and tourist attractions are less busy midweek. If your plans are flexible, why not come midweek, when you can stay a day longer and enjoy more of what our great city has to offer! Stone Head House - Just off the Pennine Way, this small, beautiful manor house was built in 1596 and is rich in original character and traditional charm. Today, it offers free Wi-Fi and lovely rooms. In the small valley of Stone Head, near Lothersdale and Cowling in North Yorkshire, Stone Head House once served as a working farm. There are only a handful of properties in the hidden valley, all of similar age. The beautiful original building has been carefully preserved and sensitively refurbished. With flagstone floors downstairs and a huge inglenook fireplace in the dining hall, the guest house provides charming bed and breakfast accommodation at very reasonable rates. Small and intimate, the guest house offers friendly, personal service. All of the rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is cooked on the traditional Aga stove in the quaint farmhouse kitchen. A varied breakfast menu is available, including fresh-baked bread, full English breakfasts, smoked Alaskan salmon and oak-smoked kippers from Whitby.
