The Greyhound Hotel - The beautiful and historic Greyhound Hotel forms the principal building of Cromford's Market Place and today offers free Wi-Fi, free on-site parking and modern, recently refurbished rooms. In the heart of the village, the Greyhound Hotel is a three-storey Georgian building, constructed in sandstone. It has made a substantial contribution to the history of the local area. Cromford Mill was the world's first factory and was built by Sir Richard Arkwright, inventor of the Water Frame, a machine that revolutionised the cotton industry. The Greyhound provided lodging for visitors to Cromford and was used as the location for festivities organised by Arkwright for his workforce. Fully refurbished in October 2008, all of the en suite rooms have flat-screen TVs, DVD players and tea/coffee making facilities. The bar offers a range of traditional ales and lagers, as well as an impressive selection of wines. The restaurant boasts a seasonal menu, featuring traditional cuisine.
