The lodges here are amazing, we were so happy with everything, the size of the lodge is huge, extremely clean and well equipped, and the hot tub is a great addition. We had one of the large lodges at the back and it had the most amazing space out the front for the kids to play, where we could watch them safely from the verandah. We visited Southwold for the day which is lovely and quaint, just like a seaside should be, the Lord Nelson pub does out of this world fish & chips, the best for miles (not far from the lighthouse!) We also ate at The Star Inn which is right on the main road in Wenhaston, about 5 mins walk from the lodges, they do wonderful homecooked food. Though we only stayed for 3 nights we would definitely recommend this place to everyone and it is a great base to explore. They are building a shop at present and adding more things as time goes on, my only piece of advice is you need to bring your own parasol for the patio table, but I'm sure this is being looked into as we speak. We all had a wonderful time, and there was someone there a lot of the time to make us feel welcome & if we needed anything we felt we only had to ask.

We (family of 6) had the pleasure of staying at these lodges during the August bank holiday weekend. It was a first for us all - staying in a lodge and we were VERY impressed. The lodges had only been opened a month and we could tell! From the offset, we were greeted by Karen and allowed to check in a tad early. The lodge was to an exceptional standard and the hot tub, as mentioned in previous reviews was a bonus! Wenhaston is a small village but there is a pub down the road and although the area is quiet and peaceful, the location is perfect to travel further afield as we did visiting Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Beccles and Southwold are even nearer but unfortunatley we ran out of time. The weather wasn't great but we had absolutely no problem being indoors - the kitchen is fully fitted with everything you will need! The bedrooms are spacious, one of which had an ensuite much to my parents delight. They even provide board games! Karen and Jim (Owners) are wonderfully helpful - we couldn't have asked for anything more.I wouldn't think twice about stayin here again - a relaxing holiday at a luxurious lodge. Perfect!

This is an immaculately maintained site in a tranquil location, yet within easy reach of many attractions. The lodges here are of a high quality and we enjoyed the lovely views and walks straight from the doorstep. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to local pubs serving good food and you are only a ten minute drive from one of the beaches. We are already looking forward to a return visit.

My boyfriend and I Stayed here for my 27th Birthday, We were staying in the Blyth Lodge and all I can say is WOW. The gounds are kept extremely well. Very clean and peaceful. The lodge itself is AMAZING!! Kitted out lovely with lots of mod cons!!! Touch sensitive hob, the mirror in the bathroom had built in LED lights which looked lovely :) the hot tub was perfect didn't feel cold once we had got out.... not bad for mid novemeber, Jim the owner was lovely, nice warm welcome. Could not fault heathside what so ever, we are even thinking about booking up in advance for next year. We also went to "Africa Alive" which was a lovely day out worth the money and ony 11 miles away.

We had a lovely stay in a 2 berth lodge at Heathside Lodges in December 2011. We were greeted by Jim, the owner, and also met his wife later; both were very welcoming and helpful. The lodge was beautiful and well equipped, the site had only opened in July 2011, so everything was immaculate and a Christmas tree had been installed in the lodge and decorated, which was an added bonus. Work is still being done on the site, ie planting shrubs etc around each lodge and finalising the work on the onsite shop. They had erected a large Christmas Tree at the entrance to the site which helped when returning to the site after dark. Even though the weather was cold, we used the hot tub every day and Jim had provided a supply of towels, slippers, bathrobes and assorted toiletries. As it was December and went dark about 4pm we did not walk to any of the pubs, however the Star Inn, Wenhaston is within easy walking distance and would be a lovely stroll in the summer and they serve very nice food; the landlord and landlady are very friendly and eager to please. The Queens Head, Blyford, is a short drive away, the food was very good. The Queens Head at Bramfield is also a short drive away but is definitely worth a visit as the food is excellent. The site is situated within a heath and there are plenty of walks and Jim is also developing a lake and small wildlife area. We visited Southwold, Beccles, Leiston, Halesworth, all in easy driving distance. We have no hesitation in recommending this site and hope to visit again next year.

We had a really wonderful holiday at Heathside Lodges. Being among the first people to stay there, the lodge was immaculate and lovely to stay in. The owners, Karen & Jim were very friendly and always on hand to deal with any problems, of which there were one or two minor "hitches" but these did not spoil our holiday at all. The hot tub was a great hit with all the family! The surrounding area was very quiet and peaceful - Wenhaston is a tiny little village but very close to the beaches at Southwold and Walberswick, where we spent several days out. We also visited the Maize Maze at Southwold, the Oasis Camel Centre near Halesworth and Bewilderwood near Norwich. I would recommend this holiday to anyone and we definitely hope to be able to visit again some day.

An extremely enjoyable stay in a high quality lodge. The fixtures and fittings were exceptionally good and the hot tub was one of the best we have ever used. This development is in its early stages but the owners are clearly commited to making it an enjoyable place to stay for their guests. It is a fantastic base from which to explore Suffolk and Norfolk, being only 5 miles away from some lovely beaches at Southwold and Walberswick. We spent many happy hours on both beaches and the crabbing at Walberswick was great fun! For those people who enjoy shopping, there are many lovely places to go - Walberswick, Halesworth, Beccles, Lowestoft and Southwold all offer both high street stores as well as small craft and gift shops. Snape Maltings is also within a 25 mile drive from the lodge. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day at Pleasurewood Hills and the 3 for 2 voucher from the 'days out in Suffolk guide' saved us over ?15!! We would have loved to visit Africa Alive as we have heard excellent reviews, but unfortunately ran out of time for this. I could write many more positive remarks about Heathside Lodges and the surrounding area, but the fact that I feel sure we will return one day, hopefully proves what a lovely place this is and how much we enjoyed our holiday. We have been to 5 lodge developments now and this is certainly one of the best!!

We stayed at this log cabin over the Christmas period and had the most amazing time. The cabin was beautiful - so well built, very modern and brilliantly equipped with all necessary kitchen appliances, technology needs and more towels than we could get through. There was also a lot of 'nice touches' we weren?t expecting - a decorated Christmas tree, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries, etc, which all made our stay there even more luxurious. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice. The hot tub was our favourite aspect of our stay. The fact that the hot tub was always running and kept at a constant warm temperature made it very accessible, and we used it a lot. We also rate the owners very highly - they couldn't have been more helpful as they were at the end of a phone 24/7 and always happy to help out or just have a chat. Again, making our stay even more special. We can't wait to come back and stay at the cabin, however our only complaint would be that the Wi-Fi was poor. This wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn?t stated on the website that there would be Wi-Fi. Thank you for a brilliant break, and an amazing Christmas.
