Separate from the Mildmay Colours, a 200-year-old oak-beamed traditional country inn, where breakfast is served, the retreat is just a 4-minute drive from Mothecombe Beach on South Devon's spectacular coastline, and near the Dartmoor National Park. The Retreat comprises of 6 en suite rooms, including family accommodation which is on 3 levels and sleeps 5-6 people. All rooms have been refurbished and all have independent ground floor access.

The non-smoking establishment is arranged over 3 floors, with one elegant internal staircase leading to all bedrooms. The ground-floor of the AA 3-star guest accommodation houses an informal bar and lounge. With its friendly and homely atmosphere it makes an excellent place to meet and relax. To the right of the bar and lounge is the breakfast area with seating for 24 people. All breakfasts are freshly cooked to order. Free Wi-Fi access is offered to guests with their own computers. There is also a computer with internet access, which can be used at an additional cost.

Cary Court - Guest House - This "Plantation-style" house was built over a century ago on part of the Cary Estate in the leafy Warberries, a quiet conservation area off the Babbacombe Road. Cary Court is a few minutes' walk from the harbour, theatre and shopping areas. A wide choice of pubs, clubs, restaurants and bars are close by .There is a heated outdoor swimming pool (seasonal) surrounded by south-facing sub-tropical gardens and sun decks. In the lounge, there are large ceiling fans to cool you in summer and cosy log fires to warm you in winter. A full English breakfast is served in elegant surroundings with views over the garden. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. Tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished bedrooms feature a mixture of antique and period pieces, some with king-size beds, some with four-poster beds, all en suite.
